Imagery

I started off my image from a series of pencil sketches in my sketchbook which I left at home in Manchester but is being sent up so I can document my work.

I began with a simple line structure and then added in a strong tone of shading stroke and detail to make the animals heads look as detailed as possible.

With working with so much detail and specific strokes, it meant that I was giving up a lot of memory which meant the file was huge and quite slow to work with due to the amount of anchor points.

but with doing this I got a highly realistic and detailed piece of work which started to take form.

I began to make smaller strokes and added detail in to a fine line to get as much depth as I possibly could.

As well as realism I wanted a sketchy appearance which gave a skater kind of feel

Once completed, this is what it looked like, however I thought it could be taken a step further.

Which is when I decided to add wings for a background.

I then carried out a set of fine line detail on the wings so the imagery all tied together as one piece.

I then added some old school roses as I thought the design was still missing something to make it flow.

Again I added a series of detail and made it pop.

To finish with I added some rays

And the final looked like this:

Which is when I added them to a deck so the image can be seen within context.

And then spread them out into five decks to make a interesting feature to be applied to a wall as regards design.
